Lazy Acres Gives $5,000 to Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund

Anderson Regional Cancer Center sends a big THANK YOU to Lazy Acres Plantation for Going Pink at the Patch during October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One dollar from every admission ticket at the pumpkin patch was donated to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund. A total of $5,000 was raised in this great initiative.

Wanda B. Cooper Receives MsAHQ’s

2011 Healthcare Quality Leader of the Year Award


MERIDIAN, MS- The Mississippi Association for Healthcare Quality (MsAHQ) has named Wanda B. Cooper, VP, Anderson Regional Medical Center, as the recipient of the 2011 Healthcare Quality Leader of the Year award. The award was presented during the MsAHQ annual conference recently held at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

Anderson Regional Cancer Center Receives National Accreditation

 Anderson Regional Cancer Center has been granted Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation by The Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS).

 Anderson received Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation following an on-site evaluation by a physician surveyor during which Anderson demonstrated a Commendation level of compliance with one or more standards that represent the full scope of the cancer program (cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, community outreach, and quality improvement). In addition, Anderson received a compliance rating for all other standards.

 “By voluntarily submitting to a survey that closely examined our facility and procedures, we are showing our patients that we strive for the highest care possible,” said Ray Humphreys, President and CEO, Anderson Regional Medical Center.
