John and Friends Run for Cancer

John Johnson is gearing up for his fifth and final marathon to benefit the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.  Nick Adam and Tim Irvine, also employees at WTOK, will be joining John in the New Orleans Mardi Gras Marathon on March 4, 2012.  T-shirts are $20 and can be purchased at Anderson Regional Cancer Center.  All proceeds go to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund.  For more information call 601-485-5081.  The t-shirt artwork is pictured below.

"Wear Your Tennis Shoes to Work Day" is another way you can participate in John and Friends Run for Cancer.  WTOK is inviting local businesses and schools to participate in this fundraiser on Friday, February 24. Participants are asked to make a donation to the Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund in exchange for wearing tennis shoes to work or school.  Last year this fundraiser raised $2,000 in one day!  Donations can be made at Anderson Regional Cancer Center.
