"Giving help where help is needed"

VOLUNTEERS: WHO ARE THEY?

The Volunteer Auxiliary is made up of men and women of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Anyone 18 years of age or older can serve as a volunteer. Some are young people who want to serve the community or learn more about the hospital environment. Some are working people who wish to give their spare time to help others. Some are retired people who continue to be active through their volunteer service.

HOW THE AUXILIARY SERVES

JARMC Volunteer Auxiliary is an organization of volunteers who serve the hospital, patients and the community in innumerable ways. Volunteers staff the front lobby information desk and the gift cart. They deliver mail, make patient tray favors, and provide services for families in the waiting rooms for ICU, CCU, Surgery, and Labor and Delivery. In fact, they work behind the scenes in virtually every department of the hospital in order to supplement the work of the hospital staff. The Auxiliary provides the opportunity for volunteers to utilize their individual talents and interests in serving the hospital and the patients.

Volunteers add a measure of warmth and humanity to our hospital. They offer smiles and helping hands, caring words and thoughtful services. They give comfort and compassion to patients and families - and even provide silent inspiration to those in the healing professions.
