The Medical Staff
The physician who admits you is
responsible for directing your care while you are in the hospital.
Your physician, as the coordinator for your treatment program,
should be consulted if you have questions about your illness.
The Nursing Staff
Twenty-four hour nursing care is
provided by a team of professional registered nurses, licensed
practical nurses and nurse assistants. A nurse manager is responsible
for directing and coordinating nursing care on each unit. Please
feel free to contact your nurse or the nurse manager if you have
questions or concerns.
Dietitians
The hospital maintains a staff
of full-time registered dietitians to meet your dietary needs
during your stay. If you have questions about your meals or diet,
call extension 6184.
Patient Representative
Our patient representatives serve
as liaison between you and the hospital. They are here to assist
you with any needs, problems, or concerns. Patients, family members
or friends can contact a patient representative by calling extension
6697.
Social Workers
Social workers are assigned to
each patient care area and are trained to help patients and family
members deal with financial, social and emotional problems that
relate to illness or hospitalization. This help can involve discharge
planning, referral to community agencies, and counseling. In addition,
they can assist with interpreters for those who do not speak English,
as well as those who are hearing-impaired. The Social work staff
can assist you with Advance Directive information. Referrals may
be made by physicians, staff, family members, or patients. They
may be reached at extension 6107.
Spiritual Assistance
The staff of JARMC recognize that
pastoral and other spiritual services are an integral part of
healthcare and daily life for many of our patients. For our patients
and family members requesting pastoral services we have an on-staff Chaplain, or a list of available
clergy can be provided upon request. Your own priest, minister, rabbi, or
spiritual leader is always welcome to visit you while you are
here. For more information, speak to one of your nurses or call
the patient representative at extension 6697 or the Social Work
Department at extension 6107.
Business Services
A representative from the Business
Services Department can answer questions about your hospital bill
and help you interpret financial policies and billing procedures
at the hospital. You may contact Business Services by calling
extension 6850, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Environmental Services
(Housekeepers)
Your room is cleaned daily by a
member of the housekeeping staff. If there is a housekeeping problem
in your room, tell your nurse and it will be taken care of as
soon as possible.
Volunteer Auxiliary
Volunteers contribute many hours
of service to the hospital and patients. They supplement the services
of the hospital staff in many ways and can be identified by their
teal colored jackets/aprons and name badges. If they can be of
service to you or your family, please call extension 6392 or visit
their desk on the first floor by the ICU waiting area.
Other Personnel
During your stay may be visited
by many other healthcare professionals, including personnel from
the laboratory, respiratory and radiology departments and physical
or occupational therapists. In addition, the JARMC family includes
many behind-the-scenes workers, such as accountants, engineers,
secretaries, food service workers and others who contribute greatly
toward your well-being while you are here.
