The
Cardiac Rehabilitative Program at Anderson's Institute for Rehabilitative
Medicine is available to assist this person to achieve and maintain
their optimal level of cardiovascular fitness.
PROGRAM
INCLUDES:
EDUCATION:
- Cardiac Connection
support group is for patients and/or family members with heart
disease. The group meets the first Thursday of each month at
10:00am in the Health and Fitness Center Auditorium. For more
information call 553-6789.
- The education
aspect of Heart F.I.T. (Fitness Is Tops) helps patients and their
family members learn more about the heart and coronary artery
disease, risk factors for coronary artery disease, proper diet
and other lifestyle changes necessary for prudent heart living.
EXERCISE:
Heart
F.I.T. (Fitness Is Tops) participants will be involved in individually
tailored exercise for 1 to 1.5 hours, three days per week for
a total of 12 weeks or 36 sessions. Each session will be supervised
by trained health professionals who will assess blood pressure,
heart rate, and heart rhythm.
GOAL:
Our
Goal is to help the person with cardiovascular disease to achieve
and maintain their highest level of cardiovascular health.
